Netscape Navigator
stores in your computer's memory a temporary record of the Web
pages that you've viewed everytime you use Navigator. This "history
list" of Web pages can be seen and easily accessed by clicking
on the Go menu.
Of course, by now,
you've learned that the pain-free way to ensure that you can
get back to a Web page you'd like to view again is to bookmark
it.
Finding Information
on a Web page
Sometimes, when you're
searching for specific information on many Web pages, it's useful
to be able to quickly find a word or phrase on a page. This feature
can come in very handy when you're doing research and would require
specific data. To easily find a word or phrase on a Web page,
click the Edit menu, then click Find... (or type "APPLE"+"F").
A Find
On Page
dialog box will appear (as seen below).
Type in the word or
words you're hunting for, then click Find (or press "RETURN" or "ENTER").
If the words that you were looking for are present on the page,
it would appear highlighted on the Web page.
Searching on
the Internet
If you're searching
for some specific information on the Net, you can search by keywords
using a search engine. With
Navigator, you can simply type in the keywords for the topic(s)
that you're searching for in the Location
Bar, and press "RETURN" or "ENTER").
This will automatically activate Netscape's search engine, Netscape Search, and
the Web pages matching your keywords will appear in your browser
window. Clicking on the Search
button on
the Navigator Toolbar
will also connect you with Netscape
Search. Or, you can conduct keyword searches using one
of the myriad of search engines
available on the Internet.
