Bookmarks Banner

One of the best features present in most Web browsers, including Netscape Navigator, is the ability to bookmark Web pages, Websites or URLs. Netscape's bookmarks are simililar to the bookmarks you'd use with a printed book. In both cases, they are used to "mark" places so that you can easily return to them at a later time.

As you surf the Internet, you'll likely find Web pages or sites that you really like. If you bookmark them, you can go to them later with a click of your mouse. If you don't bookmark them, you'll likely have to spend some time searching for them or have to retype the URL each time you want to visit the pages again.

Creating a bookmark

  1. Browse the Web page you wish to bookmark. (Practice with this page.)
  2. Click the Bookmarks menu and then click Add Bookmark. You can also type "APPLE"+"D" on your keyboard.
  3. Click again on the Bookmarks menu. You should see a bookmark (the title of the Web page) of the current Web page added to the bottom of the list.

Faster Bookmarking

For a quicker way to bookmark Web pages or sites that you're currently viewing, simply double-click on the Bookmark icon (Book Mark Icon) located next to the Location Bar. See image below for details.
