The Standard Edition of Netscape Communicator contains a collection of Internet software components, including Navigator (the Web browser), Messenger (the e-mail client), Composer (the Web editor), and AOL Instant Messenger (Internet Chat). To make it easier to select between these Internet tools, Communicator has a Component Bar, located on the bottom-right corner, which allows you to click on icons to open each component as shown below.

When you click on the left of the Component Bar (try it), the bar transforms into a Floating Component Bar, which you can move to anywhere on your desktop.
